(Ch. Redlion Western Wishes CD RN CGC “Twig x Ch. Sandy Oak Starlite Starbrite CGC)

Annie and my Halley, aka Ch. Sandy Oak Starlite Wishes CD RE TT CGC, are full sisters, but a year apart. Halley is spayed due to a congenital heart defect, but will remain with us as my companion and competitive obedience dog. Halley was never bred, but as we had planned on it she has all of her other health certifications including an OFA excellent rating for hips. Both Halley and Annie are conformation champions with obedience titles.

Halley’s first title, after the CGC, was the Temperament Test certificate. I’ve never done that before....the dog must be handled on loose a 6 foot leash with no voice commands through a series of obstacles to test it’s ability to handle things like gun shots, someone banging pots together, opening an large umbrella as the dog walks by, walking over a long metal grid, and handling a nasty drunk who runs out from behind a building spewing oaths and shaking a large stick! Halley passed it with flying colors and was ready to take on the drunk, but came back to me immediately as soon as he went back in his cave!! Halley finished her conformation championship with her first major and Best of Winners awarded by a well known breeder judge. The second major finished her championship at an ACC supported entry. I started Halley right out as a puppy for competitive obedience training as she is a very intense worker who loves to please! She finished her CD (Companion Dog title) going 3 for 3 with a 1981/2 and second place at her last trial....she sailed right through her Rally obedience titles earning her first and only Rally Advanced Excellent (RAE) leg at the 2010 ACC National specialty with a 1st place out of the Advanced Rally class and a 2nd place out of the Rally Excellent class. I’ve since decided not to pursue her RAE title but go forward in the more formal obedience venues with her...so on to Open and Utility training.

Halley is also the full sister to multiple High in Trial dog, Sandy Oak I’ll Be True To You CDX UKC CD, owned, trained, loved and shown by Michelle Mingus, and also to Sandy Oak’s Vela CD, both of whom are also current competitors in the local obedience rings.

Watch for these outstanding girls in the various venues of competition throughout the bay area.
