Molly is from the 2011 repeat breeding of Lacey to Ben. It had not been my intention to keep another pup at that time, but Molly was the last pup from her litter of 10 with no acceptable buyers in the wings, so I started working her and quickly realized that not only was she a fast learner and an excellent retriever with an incredible desire to please, but her conformation and movement were superb as well! So after a quick evaluation by co-breeder, Catherine Collins, we decided to keep Molly.

Molly’s father Ben is a qualified all-age field trial dog and the recipient of The American Chesapeake Club’s Certificate of Achievement Dual Awards program as he is also a conformation champion. Ben is also the producer of 12 qualified all-age field trial field trial dogs including a Dual Ch. & AFC and her littermate AFC, as well as hunt test titled dogs some of whom also have conformation championships. Ben is a good looking and very talented dog with a wonderful disposition and is producing same.

Photos of Molly’s mother Lacey along with her bio are elsewhere on this site. Lacey is a sweetheart of a dog who goes back to many conformation champions and titled working dogs from the Sandy Oak and the Meadowood lines. She is also conformation pointed. Due to her age, we will probably not be breeding her again, or showing her anymore, but rather will be depending on Molly for pups when she is ready!

I have high hopes and great expectations for Molly’s future as I continue to be blown away by her good looks, her willingness to learn, and her incredible retrieving skills. Molly is maturing into a beautiful young “lady”. By the age the age of 14 months, she had already earned her Canine Good Citizen certificate (CGC) and her AKC Rally Novice obedience title (RN). At the 2013 ACC Supported Golden Gate Kennel Club show, she was Reserve Winners Bitch and Best Bred-By Exhibitor entry on Saturday, which she also just repeated at a recent local show. We are not only working towards her conformation championship, but also obedience and hunt test titles. Molly is very smart and so eager to learn and to work for us, and is wonderful in the field as she is a marking fool and takes the most beautiful straight lines to all of her marks! Her enthusiasm in the field is impaired only by my ability to find other groups to train with! But we will eventually get where we need to be for a Junior Hunter title!

Our 2010 litter out of Lacey by Ben produced Ch. Sandy Oak’s Oh Henry! who made a spectacular debut in the conformation ring before Henry was a year old by finishing his championship with 3 major wins in just a handful of shows presented by co-breeder Catherine Collins, or County-Wide Dog Training Club member and conformation instructor, Jan McCarthy. Then at the this year’s ACC Supported Golden Gate Kennel Club show we brought Henry back out as a specials and he went Select dog both days for a total of 10 points towards his Grand Championship title expertly handled by Catherine! The week before he had been out hunting all week with Greg!

All of the remaining pups from Henry’s and Molly’s litters went into companion homes, but many are also hunting companions for their people. Photos and videos of this second litter are here on our site for ongoing viewing and we continue to get photos and great reports on the offspring from both of these litters which we post to my website!

Meanwhile, watch our blog for more on the ongoing accomplishments of Molly, big brother Henry, and other litter mates as time goes on and for our doings at other upcoming events.
